Administrative Assistant – Police

The City of Fond du Lac is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant at the Police Department.  This full-time position reports directly to the Chief of Police and Assistant Chiefs – responsible for the administrative support of the City of Fond du Lac Police Department both internally and externally.  This position is the pulse of the agency carrying out fiscal responsibilities, disseminating vital communication to all members, and being responsible for the Department’s administrative efficiency and effectiveness.

Various duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Requirements include: high school graduate or equivalent; preferred Associate’s degree in Administrative Professional or related field with two to five years office management experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities; strong ability to function in a fast-paced dynamic work environment; able to meet deadlines and work under critical and stressful situations.  Must have excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, public speaking skills, and be able to work effectively with employees and citizens.  Strong ability to utilize proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Previous experience in law enforcement/corrections, familiarity with various police records software a plus: CCAP, TRACS, NEWPRS, TIME system, CHRI, NIBRS, RMS software (Flex/P1), and dictation software records management.

The salary range is $22.36 – $28.30 based upon based upon knowledge, skills and abilities with potential to receive annual COLA and step increases pending City Council approval of budgets.
