Job Summary:
Bindery – Operator III will either assist in the setup and operation of perfect bind pockets and/or set up and run the various offline equipment throughout the department. There are openings on second shift, 3pm to 1am, Monday thru Thursday with mandatory overtime on Friday if needed.
Essential Functions:
- Be able to perform all Bindery – Assistant job duties.
- Assist in machine set-up and operation of off line equipment or perfect bind pockets.
- Included in this process is setting up and fine tuning pockets, stackers, set up and monitor calipers, and inspect working parts to ensure machine is functioning properly.
- Use maintain, and support Lean activities such as 5s, TPM tasks and MDI
- Assist with maintenance and lubrication and replacement of worn parts on applicable equipment
- Follows all required safety procedures such as: PPE’s, Ergonomics, Chemical Hazards, etc. Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
- Perform knife changes on applicable equipment.
Move product into and away from the binder Assist with agency employees Other duties as directed
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must be able to use hands for a variety of repetitive material handling tasks about 90% of an 10-hour shift.
- Must be able to constantly stand for up to 10 hours
- Lifting between eight and 50 pounds from waist level and carry at waist level up to four feet on a frequent basis
- Lifting between eight and 50 pounds from waist level and carry at waist level up to four feet and lift above shoulder height and place it on a stack on an occasional basis
- Pick up, grasp and turn/rotate 4 to 8 pound handfuls of product on a constant basis
- Kneel and squat to do work on an occasional basis
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Be a qualified Inspector level II or possess commensurate experience
- Must be able to use hands for a variety of repetitive material handling tasks about 90% of an 8-hour shift.
- Must be able to regularly lift and move materials weighing between five and 50 pounds.
- Demonstrates a conscious concern for quality.
