Job Description
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all‑inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
× Cleans and sanitizes toilets, urinals, sinks, and mirrors.
× Cleans hand towel dispensers, mops floors, and supplies soap and paper products.
× Cleans windows, empties waste baskets, washes and dusts floors, countertops, vending machines and drinking fountains.
× Vacuums carpets and shampoos when necessary.
. Performs deep cleaning activities as needed.
. Re-finishes flooring as needed.
× Cleans phones, light fixtures, washroom fans, partitions, and ceiling diffusers.
× Dusts and polishes chairs and cabinets, doors, walls, blinds and curtains.
× Ensures that appropriate doors are locked, and directs general public to various meeting rooms.
Decision Making/Interaction:
Decisions concerning the order in which cleaning is accomplished and the scheduling of the day‑to‑day work routine are made independently. There is limited interaction with other departments, the general public and others outside of the department.
Desirable Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation principles, and equipment and supplies used in cleaning. Ability to work independently and adjust to different situations.
Training and Experience:
Graduation from high school.
In evaluating candidates for this position, the County may consider a combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
