Silica For Your Home is now accepting applications for a Delivery Manager for the Appliance and Furniture Department.
General Outline: The Appliance and Furniture Delivery Manager oversees the end-to-end delivery operations for appliances and furniture, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient transportation and installation. This role involves managing and growing delivery teams, optimizing logistics, maintaining customer satisfaction, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards, and maintaining all vehicles in the delivery department. All of this should be done while fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Plan, schedule, and monitor daily delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. Work with the warehouse/inventory team to prepare products for delivery. Ensure all products are delivered and installed according to company quality standards and timelines, and safety guidelines. Assist the Sales personnel with the scheduling and processing of deliveries to customers.
Team Leadership:
Train and supervise delivery personnel. Continually growing the department and training for personal success and professionalism with their responsibilities. Assist with the recruitment of department personnel. Communicate with installers on their performance and provide ongoing coaching to improve team productivity. This should be an everyday occurrence and always in a positive manner. Ensure all delivery installers are dressed in accordance with Silica’s standards. Assist with deliveries and installations as deemed necessary. Work closely with other department managers to ensure the ultimate customer satisfaction. Being proficient in handling customer interactions and complaints with professionalism as well as quick decision making skills to address operational challenges.
Customer Satisfaction:
Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, or issues related to deliveries. Ensure a positive delivery experience through excellent service and communication.
Logistics Coordination:
Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure products are ready for delivery. Maintain an adequate supply of installation materials and supplies. Compliance and Safety: Enforce adherence to safety protocols, driving regulations, and company policies. Conduct regular safety and equipment checks for delivery vehicles and tools. Stay up to date on regulations related to vehicle operations and product handling. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, customer feedback, and team performance. Prepare and present (email) delivery performance reports to the Director of HR. Maintaining all Vehicles in the Delivery Department Ensure vehicles are properly cared for, clean and maintained in a timely manner
Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Management, or a related field is preferred).
Experience:
Proven experience in delivery or logistics management, preferably in the appliance/furniture or retail industry. Knowledgeable with logistics software and vehicle maintenance practices. Experience in managing teams and optimizing operations.
Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in logistics software and tools. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy appliances and furniture safely. Comfortable working in various weather and warehouse conditions.
