Design Lab Program Specialist LTE grant-funded; Hybrid-remote (flexible mix)

The Fond du Lac Public Library is seeking a Program Specialist to help facilitate its grant-funded program, Design Lab. This limited term employment (LTE) position is responsible for partnering in developing and implementing the daily operations of the 2021-2026 STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Ecosystem Expansion Demonstration Project (SEED Project), known locally as Design Lab, funded by the U.S. Dept. of Education’s Assistance for Arts Education (AAE) grant and administered by Dramatic Results, a non-profit educational arts agency. The goal of the project is to develop communities’ capacity to create and sustain high-quality, engaging, and equitable STEAM programs for underrepresented students in an effort to build arts-integrated educational pathways to a more diverse creative workforce, with project sites located in California, Maryland and Wisconsin.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Partner in the development & implementation of the SEED Project as part of the Idea Studio
● Lead the recruitment and orientation of 3rd-5th grade program participants
● Partner with Curriculum and Instruction Manager on recruitment & training of short term seasonal Pre-Service Teachers working with Design Lab
● Collect and organize data for grant reporting
● Collaborate with and delegate tasks to program staff including: Design Lab Assistant, Teaching Artists, and Pre Service Teachers
● Assist Curriculum and Instruction manager with budget planning
● Lead communication with families, creating a timeline and implementation plan

Pay Rate: $28.76 per hour
Schedule: 40 hours per week, including heavy summer programming and Saturdays.

The Fond du Lac Public Library is a vibrant, customer-focused library, circulating over 400,000 items annually with a collection of 200,000+ items spread over two locations. In addition to traditional library materials, the library circulates computer projectors, board games, guitar effect pedals, cake pans, and outdoor games.

The Library’s makerspace, the Idea Studio, offers a test kitchen, recording studio, woodworking shop, 3D printers, sewing machines and various other equipment for public use.
