Primary accountability and support to the Plant Managers for the overall direction, leadership, and effective operation of the facility(s), including planning, organizing, administration, strategy development and evaluation of all functions. The ultimate goal and result being measurable improvements to plant performance levels relative to: Cost, Quality, Product & Associate Safety, Customer Service, and Morale/Culture.  Accountable for safety, quality, continuous improvement and performance of the facilities.  Positively promote Grande’s mission and culture.

1. Talent Management Advocates for effective execution of the performance management process by collaborating with direct report/s to set clear objectives, goals and expectations.  

  • Conducts regular coaching and constructive feedback discussions to review performance and goal progress, assist with challenges, and identify strengths and development areas, all to support Associate professional and career development, while increasing engagement and motivation.
  • Supports workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies by effectively staffing and hiring diverse talent for the organization. 
  • Addresses Associate relations and performance issues in a timely manner and/or makes appropriate decisions relative to performance challenges.
  • Develop direct reports to increase the bench strength and flexibility of the team. 
  • Ensure that Associates receive appropriate training and resources to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently.

2. Enhance Manufacturing Performance Levels, Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement Oversee multiple facilities and responsibility for manufacturing P&L.

  • Develop, communicate, and execute near and long term vision, goals and strategies for the facilities as well as expectations of performance and methods. 
  • Cultivate, maintain and grow strong relationships with members throughout the organization.
  • Instill and maintain a culture of teamwork, personal learning and professional development for all members to ensure fairness and improve member morale and work life.
  • Provide the professional business environment and unified direction required to continually improve the operation to become the “Best Company in the World.
  • “Work closely with the appropriate business units to grow the businesses and provide exceptional products and service.
  • Facilitate activities to create the most flexible, cost-competitive manufacturing network.
  • Drive year over year costs and efficiency improvements targeting ZLA opportunity and 3 percent COGS, including raw materials, labor and overhead.
  • Key member of Trademark Products Strategy Planning and Network Manufacturing Strategy planning and execution teams. 
  • Responsible for long term capacity strategies and best quality at best cost.
  • Act as owner and steward of Grande’s product quality and identify and implement areas for continuous improvement.
  • Lead teams to identify priorities for initiatives and projects to maintain effective operations and improve cost factors.
  • Lead teams to develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Evaluate productivity and overall manufacturing performance, efficiency, and profitability for each facility.
  • Develop and achieve understanding of performance indicators and metrics across each facility.
  • Identify where performance gaps exist, and then devise appropriate plans for improvement and implementation of those plans.
  • Formulate, recommend, and implement policies and programs essential to manufacturing operations for maintaining high standards, increasing innovation, and improving profitability.
  • Handle crisis management decisions for the facility(s).
  • Forecast manpower and facility requirements. 
  • Analysis of capital investments and coordination of major projects for the facility(s).
  • Collaborate with other functional areas such as Technology/R&D and Engineering to make changes/improvements to plant processes.
  • Serve as manufacturing representative on the New Product Development Team.
  • Provide support to the Plant Managers in serving the surrounding community(s) as the liaison for community communications and relationships.
  • Accountable for compliance with food safety and quality programs (HACCP, SQF).Ensure compliance and handle matters with State and Federal government regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible to ensure that all required documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting takes place as is required by law and/or regulatory agencies, i.e. ) OSHA, DNR, USDA, FDA, IMS, WDA, SQF, etc.    

3. Personal Leadership Development Continue to develop skills and techniques to improve personal effectiveness as a leader and coach.


  • Pursuit of continuing knowledge within the industry.
  • Participate in training and development identified to enhance leadership competencies.  
  • Strong knowledge of project management, Lean Sigma tools, engineering, and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local food and water regulations, including CFR, FSMA, the PMO, and Bioterrorism Act. Business Savvy Vision & Passion Conflict Management Delegation




Bachelors Degree or better in Operations Management.


Masters Degree or better in Operations Management.



Twelve (12) or more years related experience with a minimum of five (5) years in Operations Management.
