About Horace Mann High School:
Horace Mann High School is in the School District of North Fond du Lac, dedicated to developing
students to be career, college and life ready in an environment of dedication, hard work, kindness and
critical thinking. Horace Mann High School is a 9th – 12th grade comprehensive high school serving over
460 students, currently considered Division 3 for Boys Basketball and part of the Flyway Conference.

Job Summary:
Boys Basketball Assistant Coach (Coach) is responsible for various aspects of the Boys Basketball
Program, such as recruiting within the school, training, and coaching student-athletes. The Coach is
required to abide by all Flyway and WIAA rules and regulations as well as the rules and regulations set by
the School District of North Fond du Lac Board of Education and the High School leadership team.
The Coach is responsible for working with the Head Coach to develop the District basketball program,
supporting middle school basketball and working with the community-based Youth Basketball
Association, creating a streamlined program that promotes team work, dedication, sportsmanship and

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required):
● 1+ years of experience coaching basketball
● Possess effective coaching techniques and skills
● Possesses possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of basketball

● Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
● The applicant must possess the ability to relate to students and to teach them on and off
the court.
● The applicant must be willing to accept a high level of accountability.
● The applicant must possess the ability to assess players effectively.

The applicant must also promote multi-sport, club participation among student-athletes
and work with other athletic and extracurricular programs to ensure maximum student
experience throughout his or her high school career.
