Location: Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes
Job: various
This month, we had the opportunity to tour the Mother House at the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes (CSA). What a beautiful location!
While we were there, we met with employees, both lay persons and sisters. The environment is calm, relaxing, and reflective. However, don’t that that fool you. The individuals who work here are so incredible driven and passionate about what they do.
On our tour, we visited a number of areas within the facility, including the chapel, meeting spaces, and offices. The tranquil feeling abounds throughout the campus.
Next, we took a look at their solar farm. Did you know this facility is 100% solar powered? It is! In 2020, when Alliant Energy announced the launch of its first community solar project in Fond du Lac, CSA supported the endeavor by purchasing 538 solar panels (called “blocks”) of the solar garden. This investment means that the entire St. Agnes Convent and the on-site maintenance building will be 100% powered by the sun. The Community Solar program provides an opportunity for customers, both residential and corporate, to share the benefits of solar power without having to install solar panels on their property and will be fully operational by the end of 2021.
There are ample opportunities for the general public to engage with CSA. Whether through prayer requests, tours, or facilities (including Hermitages!), this is a stunning location in Fond du Lac to check out.
The other good news? They’re hiring! They’re currently looking to add a maintenance/land steward, full-time housekeeper, and a part-time cook to their team. Learn more about these opportunities here.
