Job Description

The Indirect Buyer converts purchase orders from ERP system to support indirect (MRO) requirements, works with requestor to validate needs and potentially expedites material, works closely with Accounts Receivable/Payables to address invoicing issues, works with receiving to clears receipt discrepancies in Coupa, and participates in purchasing related meetings.  The Buyer will also obtain materials, supplies and services required to support company requirements as well as the processing of purchase requisitions and release of purchase orders. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review of Purchase order confirmations and update/modify purchase orders to reflect accurate information
  • Management of supplier acknowledgement process
  • Work with suppliers to resolve past due items
  • Reconciles supplier invoice discrepancies
  • Identifies, resolves and communicates receiving issues
  • Maintains and updates internal part numbering system as necessary
  • Assists with action required for return of unwanted materials (defective, over shipped or otherwise)
  • Maintains key vendor partnerships to improve overall costs and enhance product performance
  • Reduces vendors in supply base to achieve maximum economies of scale
  • Identifies and develops supplier relationships for key items and materials to ensure uninterrupted material flow
  • New supplier set up and maintaining supplier info records
  • Completes data analysis as assigned
  • Accurately maintains Pricing Conditions and Master Data information in ERP Systems
  • Effectively represents company with vendors, achieving best possible solutions which satisfy vendors while achieving results which meet corporate business needs
  • Communicates with superiors, peers and vendors in a manner that is personable and professional
  • Takes ownership for areas of responsibility and develop action plan with timeline for results
  • Manages supply chain and internal processes to ensure world class performance
  • Adheres to company policies & procedures as necessary to ensure compliance to SOX and Internal Audit requirements
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Let’s Talk About Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing Environment
  • 2 years’ experience in Purchasing or Material related experience
  • Respects and follows Safety Policies and regulations to promote safe workplace
  • Honest and dependable team player
  • Exceptional Work Ethic
  • Ability to interact and work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to multitask and complete tasks promptly
  • Proficiency in SAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in Outlook

  • Demonstrated analytical and negotiation skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Exceptional work ethic – must be a self-starter and willing to do what it takes to complete the task
  • Ability to interact with various departments (accounting, sales, engineering, etc.).

  • Ability to coordinate several tasks concurrently
  • Desktop/laptop PC with standard operating system and office applications, Word, Excel
  • Proficiency with SAP a plus
