Department Opening: Humanities

The History program is seeking a part-time history adjunct instructor for the 2023-2024 academic year; to start August 2023.  Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement and research, as well as service to the college and community. Marian University is an institution that values innovative teaching, advising and mentoring.

Teaching responsibilities include courses each semester, as demand requires. Candidates should exhibit skill and enthusiasm in teaching undergraduates.

We are currently looking for candidates with an ability to teach the following courses:

HIS 111 – U.S. History

HIS 425 – The Civil War Era

POS 205 – American Government

HIS 214 – History of Wisconsin

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses throughout the curriculum in the undergraduate History Program in on-campus in-person delivery method. There may also be opportunities to teach in an online or hybrid modality.

Requirements:

  • Master’s in History or closely related field of study; terminal degree in the discipline is preferred.

Preferred qualifications include: 

  • Experience with Higher-Education teaching, both in-person and online modalities.
  • Experience in learning management system platforms.
