Position Summary:

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Instructional Designer on our Fond du Lac Campus.  This position assists faculty in curriculum development and the course development process. 

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, Education or related field) and two years of related work experience, including curriculum development, teaching and/or training.

Responsibilities:

• Assist faculty in developing appropriate and effective course outcomes, content, activities, and assessment strategies in the context of performance-based instruction.
• In collaboration with faculty, associate deans, and other curriculum team members, design and develop engaging, effective courses.
• Provide expertise, consultation, training, and support in pedagogy and instruction.
• Manage the course development process, helping ensure projects are completed on time and within established requirements.
• Provide guidance in support of college policies and state and federal regulations such as web accessibility, copyright, and regular & substantive interaction.
• Research and make recommendations regarding emerging instructional strategies and maintain current knowledge of best practices in instructional design.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Proficient in developing instruction within learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.).
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of learning theories, instructional design, accessibility, and appropriate use of instructional technologies.
• Knowledge of software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with end users, colleagues, and management to provide a complete and timely explanation of issues and decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently with little supervision and make sound decisions with minimal direction.

Hiring Range: $61,205 – $76,506
Starting: September 2024
Workplace Flexibility: Limited work from home upon approval
Hours/Schedule/Travel: 37.5 hours per week with flexibility allowed any day of the week within normal business hours Monday – Friday.
