Description
Overview:
Walsworth is hiring a Maintenance Electrician at our facility in Ripon, Wisconsin. This position’s responsibilities include working on equipment from large to small in our 250,000 square foot building. This full-time, hourly, overtime pay and benefits eligible role is part of a team of Maintenance Electricians and Technicians. The work schedule is 7 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday with possible overtime.
What You’ll Do in Your Role:
As a Maintenance Electrician, you will work independently and with other plant personnel to troubleshoot and repair production and facilities equipment. Also, you will perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.
Essential Functions:
- Work safely and maintain a safe work environment, follow all plant and department specific safety rules, procedures and policies.
- Problem solves equipment breakdowns and perform necessary repairs to maintain quality and productivity.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment.
- Work with outside contractors to install or modify equipment.
- Do assigned machine preventative maintenance.
- Properly enter information into computerized Maintenance Request Program.
- Report machine parts and items needed by other departments to maintenance leadership.
- Maintain building and grounds and all building systems as assigned.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Understand DC and AC principles and components including motors, controllers and PLCs.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Full understanding of mechanical maintenance skills.
- Hands on experience with lathes, milling, presses, welding, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work with limited direction and supervision, while demonstrating good judgment and strict confidence.
- Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
- Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand, squat, climb, and kneel constantly for up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to lift and transfer material up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to manipulate hand and power tool while lying on your side or back occasionally for 5-15minutes.
- Required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.
- May require specific vision abilities that include close vision.
- May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years experience in maintenance as an electrical technician (production or manufacturing environment preferred but not required)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
