Description
Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician I, you will maintain all production equipment and other physical assets of the facility and provide technical support and mechanical abilities to others as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain production equipment in safe, optimal operating condition throughout the plant.
- Utilize problem solving skills to maintain productivity, quality and safety on all equipment.
- Communicate the proper care and maintenance of equipment to production personnel.
- Report irregularities to appropriate leadership.
- Follow all required safety procedures such as: PPE’s, Ergonomics, Chemical Hazards, etc.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment from blueprints, technical manuals, or vendor specifications.
- Document all repairs in the maintenance repair request program.
- Report machine parts and items needed by/for other departments.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Possess good mechanical knowledge and abilities to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Must have welding and fabrication skills for design/build projects and equipment repairs.
- Knowledge of shop tools, equipment and maintenance practices.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
- Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to interface with a variety of individuals or groups on a frequent basis.
- Ability to work with limited direction and supervision, while demonstrating good judgment and strict confidence.
- Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
- Must successfully complete any training or certification courses required to support or strengthen position.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
- Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from floor to waist and waist to shoulder height.
- Able to work in static positions for more than 15 minutes and work in tight spaces in and around machinery.
- Required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.
- May require the ability to use a keyboard and other office equipment.
- May require specific vision abilities that include close vision.
- May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time.
- May be required to lift, carry or exert items or objects of reasonable weight.
- May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in an industrial maintenance setting is preferred.
