Job Summary

Accountable for the achievement of marketing objectives within Custom Ingredients Group. Manages execution of marketing plans, marketing communication programs and projects to achieve commercial objectives through partnership and collaboration with cross-functional team members and agency partners. Develops and executes research, analysis, and programs with a focus on improving performance, messaging the value propositions, and developing insights in support of excellence in insight-based selling, new product development and applications work. Resolves challenges and implements continuous improvement across all job duties and responsibilities. Operates as a Brand Ambassador, ensuring branding and segmentation guidelines are institutionalized across all collateral and market facing materials.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

1.Collaborate on the development and lead the administration of Marketing plans and programs to support Specialty product sales goals and objectives, driving market growth and profitability.

a.Identify portfolio/ end use application combinations, end use markets and services and evaluate business opportunities to fuel the business unit’s growth and diversification.

b.Under the direction of the Senior Marketing Manager, develop product and market value propositions and insights for targeted companies within chosen market segments.

c.Conduct financial analysis and justification of new marketing, product programs and value positions.

d.Actively contribute to the creation of highly effective marketing and product launch campaigns / programs in alignment with the overall corporate strategic sales goals and objectives. Ensure efficient and effective execution of these programs.

e.Support the development of annual marketing plans, including budgets. Provide input to strategic plans in support of the overall marketing strategies and goals.

f.Work cross functionally, especially with new product development and applications to build detailed new product commercialization plans to ensure effective product launches.

g.Identify potential new business opportunities and prospective customers who may benefit from utilizing Custom Ingredients wide range of product solutions.

h.Drive lead generation, lead nurturing and overall lead management in select markets.

i.Implement effective B-to-B marketing tactics including digital media, e-mail marketing, events, seminars, webinars, social media, etc.

j.Research & analyze market trends, competitors, and products to provide critical insights and strategic intelligence.

k.Manage day to day activity with PR and agency relationships, including communication activities, public relations efforts and manage company meetings, events, tradeshows, etc.

l.Leverage CRM reporting to monitor product performance (both new and existing) on an ongoing basis, identifying and addressing issues and opportunities.

m.Develop ongoing support plans for recently launched products, to ensure sustainable market adoption and growth.

n.Conduct product-specific market analysis, establishing optimal selling proposition and supporting on-going marketing support for existing products.

o.Manage CIG Marketing Intern as part of Grande Summer Intern program.

i.Collaborate with Sr. Manager to define key projects for summer intern.

ii.Lead the process for identification of candidates and subsequent recruitment of intern.

iii.Manage day to day activities for the intern in collaboration with the Grande HR program liaison to ensure a successful experience for both the Enterprise and the intern.

2.Act as Brand Advocate and Subject Matter Expert for Assigned Products and Categories

a.Act as an advocate to build awareness and understanding around new and existing Specialty product brands.

b.Provide insights, trends and market knowledge to NPD/R&D team for current product enhancements and new product development ideas.

c.Provide product marketing specific direction, content, and support for trade shows, website, and other collateral.

d.Create materials and tools to educate and excite the Sales team on new and existing products in support of Excellence in Insight-based Selling

e.Create and execute Internal Sales & Marketing newsletter content.

f.Provide Onboarding of new team members.

3.Additional Requirements

a.Travel will be required up to 20% of the time

Qualifications & Requirements


Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required.

Graduate Degree MBA Preferred.

Experience & Training

•Minimum of five (5) years of related experience, preferably in marketing and a food production industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•Strong working knowledge of desk-top computer software applications (such as MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, MS Access) to develop compelling presentations and analyze data

•Proven ability to work independently and organize workload for effective implementation

•Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels, lead and motivate project teams typically comprised of participants from various internal and external organizations

•Metric focused

•Strong technical aptitude


•A mobile phone is required for this position




Bachelors Degree or better in Marketing or related field.


Masters Degree or better in Business Administration or related field.



5 years: Minimum of five (5) years of related experience, preferably in marketing and a food production industry.
