Material List Provider – Commercial Estimating

** THIS ROLE CAN BE ESTABLISHED AT ANY OF DREXEL’S RETAIL STORE LOCATIONS (Does not include Amherst or Little Chute)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Use project plans, specifications, and other construction documents to accurately estimate material quantities and/or material lists for project bids and/or sold projects

Incorporate knowledge of materials, methods, and processes involved in the construction industry

Ability to interpret and analyze blueprints, construction drawings, specifications and other applicable documentation; understanding floor plans and products

Prepare accurate and timely material lists for commercial/large scale construction projects in a deadline driven environment

Enter material list into Spruce software for quoting; route to category specialists and sales team for pricing and presentation to customer

Collaborate in pre-bid meetings with sales team, head coaches, structural/systems, and purchasing teams to determine viability of projects

Compare completed material lists and estimates against updated plan revisions, addenda, and RFIs and advise changes in accordance with project  

Ability to manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously, while being able to prioritize and multitask & very flexible in job management

Collaborate regularly with sales teams as well as estimators and designers within our truss and panel teams

Strong working knowledge of computers is required. Experience with Google Suite, design, drafting or estimating software is preferred. Usage of OST or Planswift Software is a plus!

High level of communication is required at all times

ABOUT YOU

You have some level of familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the construction field or willing to be trained on it

Experienced and/or comfortable with the longer lifecycle of commercial projects

You have experience, or a strong interest, in working on new, ground up, and complex renovation projects within the commercial construction industry

Knowledgeable in commercial building codes & ethics (understanding) 

You are looking to build a long term career and not just seeking your next job

You possess strong skills in math, communication and problem solving

You’re highly organized and analytical with exceptional attention to detail 

You thrive working in a flexible, self-motivated environment with a high level of autonomy

You’re great at multitasking, meeting deadlines and working under pressure & adversity
