Treffert Studios is actively recruiting a full time board certified Neuropsychologist to lead neuropsych efforts with our multidisciplinary team in evaluation and research of exceptional brain performance and savant skills at Treffert Center. This is a great opportunity to continue and expand on the work of Dr. Darold Treffert. We are seeking an experienced clinician, for assessment of unique population of neurodivergent individuals locally, nationally and internationally seeking evaluations from the Treffert Center related to twice exceptional, hyperlexia, savant syndrome and other exceptional brain performance. Active participation in ongoing research and/or related research interests a bonus.
The facility is an innovative 8,500-square-foot facility, housing a large variety of creative tools and innovative technology (video/film equipment, music instruments, art supplies, etc.). Its mission is to help neurodivergent individuals find their passion and express their talents, giving them a voice and platform to share their strengths with the world. The Treffert Studio offers an opportunity to demonstrate the efficacy of combining a strength-based approach with unique services of mental health, education, workforce development and a creative studio. In addition to direct care, opportunities to contribute to ongoing Innovations in mental health service delivery and resource development exist both in person and virtually with this position.

Requirements:
- PhD/PsyD in clinical, counseling, or psychology
- Active state licensure by the Psychology Licensing Board
- National Register for Health Service Providers in Psychology
- Training and experience in use of empirically age appropriate, validated screening and testing instruments to assist with differential diagnoses.
- Preferred 3 years of experience-open niche focus

Job Summary:Provide psychological evaluations, direct therapeutic services and consultative mental healthcare services to individuals, families and treatment teams.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advises on population health related matters for target population (seen as content expert for this population of patients in the health system).
- Collaborates with medical professionals when needs of the patient/family dictate. Conducts and interprets diagnostic tests.
- Contributes to overall Behavioral Health quality of care by coordinating services and initiating and participating in quality of care improvement measures and procedures.
- Discusses school accommodations when indicated, access advocacy resources when needed.
- Documents patient care in the medical record according to federal, state, and agency guidelines.
- Establishes differential diagnosis, develop appropriate treatment plan and monitor response accordingly. Refer patient and family for psychotherapy as indicated, as well as to other SSM Health and community resources.
- Formulates, executes and reviews healthcare education delivered to patients and families.
- Offers supervision of psychometricians, LPC’s and psychologists as needed for delivery of psychological evaluations.
- Participates in developing policies and healthcare reforms, improve service quality, and practice evaluation. Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and evaluations.
- Performs clinical history and psychological assessment, risk factor assessment, psychiatric diagnostic assessment utilizing assessment tools as indicated.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Doctorate in Psychology or related field
EXPERIENCE
- Two years’ experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent reaching, sitting, standing and walking.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
- Occasional driving.
- Rare repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements and squatting.
