Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Compliance & Organizational Risk Director (CORD), the Organizational Risk Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational support duties of Lakeland Care Inc.’s (LCI) organizational risk management program. The organizational risk management program includes identifying and limiting the risks associated with LCI’s operations, maintaining appropriate insurance coverages, monitoring business trends to find potential new threats, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. This role will also manage LCI’s ongoing disaster recovery and business continuity plan updates and maintenance and contract management.

Responsibilities & Competencies:

  • Provide leadership to direct reports to ensure performance standards are met. Establish accountability, give adequate direction, advise on job responsibilities, conduct regular performance appraisals, and support direct reports in advancing their professional development. 
  • Manage the annual review of the effectiveness of all insurance coverages, the insurance application, and re-application process.
  • Develop a contract management process and oversee business contract and lease renewals. Collaborate with applicable LCI leadership and staff on invoices and maintenance of business contracts and leases. 
  • Provide oversight of LCI’s annual tabletop exercises, disaster recovery, and business continuity plan updates and maintenance. 
  • Collaborate with LCI leadership on opportunities for improvement across the organization that minimize risk to LCI. 
  • Provide the development and implementation of organizational risk management program requirements within policies, procedures, best practice standards, and guidelines. 
  • Assist in the facilitation of the HIPAA Security Risk Analysis in conjunction with the Compliance Manager. 
  • Support the development and delivery of training to LCI staff and various external groups regarding LCI’s organizational risk management program.
  • Submit reports and follow-up as necessary to regulatory oversight agencies, insurance representatives, and others as necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (includes knowledge, skills, and abilities).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in risk management, healthcare administration, insurance, healthcare compliance, contract management, disaster recovery business continuity planning, or related area.
  • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Exhibit a continuous improvement mindset and experience in effective change management. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of adequate insurance required.
