Overview

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering matters relating to planning, managing and maintaining production methods and processes. You will be able to participate in cross-functional teams representing manufacturing engineering at every stage of the design and development process.  You will also collaborate with colleagues in other engineering functions as well as production, research, marketing and after-sales service.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Designs, implements and maintains manufacturing methods to deliver product on time, to quality standards and to cost.
  • Evaluates current production activities and makes recommendations for improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capacity of existing processes and remove waste.
  • Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment for maximum efficiency.
  • Analyzes and improves material usage, downtime, identify trends and develop solutions.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Coordinates the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Aligns with Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing process improvement to optimize results and quality of delivery.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or combined related experience required
  • 5-7 years engineering project experience in a metal manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in a machining or fabrication environment is a plus.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing techniques, Capability Studies, Process Mapping, FMEA, and root cause analysis
  • Must be capable of taking a project lead role and comfortable in a fast-moving continuous improvement culture
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks with aggressive deadlines
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Pro-E & Auto Cad a strong plus
