Job Summary

Work with Grande producer dairies to ensure delivery of a high quality, safe raw product meeting all company policies, food safety and regulatory requirements. Work collaboratively within the Milk Marketing team to support the Milk Management Assistance Program (MMAP) and the Producers Assuring Consumers of Excellence (PACE) programs. Work collaboratively with other Grande teams and build relationships with allied industry partners to support Grande producers.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

1. Producer Support and Regulatory Compliance

a. Build a relationship with producers that garners their trust and respect.

b. Incent producers to improve milk quality, herd health and productivity using the MMAP service offerings

    i. Troubleshooting milk quality issues

c. Maintain producer compliance regarding regulatory inspections requirements

    i. FDA, IMS, USDA, State Dept. of Ag, State Dept. of Health

d. Assist MMAP veterinarian in areas of direction and/or follow up as deemed necessary

e. Support the PACE program and help producers meet the requirements

    i. Provide guidance on protocols and SOP’s

f. Develop strong peer relationships with, but not limited to veterinarians, pharmaceutical suppliers, dairy equipment suppliers, and regulatory authorities.

g. Be the Grande contact to the dairy producer and other industry affiliations within assigned territory.

2. Education and Company Promotion

a. Inform producer of all company procedures and policies

b. Inform producer of State & Federal regulation requirements and changes

c. Establish strong community relations within the assigned area to promote Grande

d. Understand marketing conditions within territory and the influences of neighboring and national market on that territory.

e. Participate in necessary educational forums to enhance professional skills.

3. Procurement/Retention of Milk

a. Develop a “contact list” of others within the assigned geographic area to gain knowledge of key happenings and events.

b. Build and maintain a prospect list of producers within respective procurement area.

c. Create a system of collecting market intelligence by establishing monthly, or quarterly prospective producer visits.

d. Possess necessary sales skills to market Grande value added services demanded by high achieving dairy producers

4. Additional Expectations

a. Utilize software applications and tools available at Grande for your daily work.

b. Respond to producers in a timely manner, including nights and weekends

c. Work collaboratively with haulers, including their regulatory compliance

d. Serve as back-up to other Producer Services Representatives

e. Help with public relations events

f. Strive for continual improvement, both on producer dairies and within your own skill set.

Licenses & Certifications

• Drivers License
• FARM AC evaluator certification (not required, but must be able to receive)
• FARM ES evaluator certification (not required, but must be able to receive)
• PAACO certification in Dairy (not required, but must be able to receive)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• High level of proficiency in computer skills including but not limited to M.S. Office products
• High level of proficiency with mobile technology
• Hands-on livestock experience especially in the area of animal care
• Comfortable working on Producer dairy sites and around livestock
• Build and maintain constructive relationships
• Able to work independently and manage time
• Leadership ability
• Dairy Comp 305 experience a plus
• Proficient in English with excellent written and oral communication skills. Spanish communication skills a plus.


• A mobile phone is required for this position




Bachelors Degree or better in Animal Science or related field.



• Minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training.
• Must have strong ties and experience in the Ag/Farm Production sectors


• Work experience in the dairy, large animal pharmaceutical, dairy nutrition, or dairy equipment and chemical supply industries desirable.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
