Position Summary:

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Quality and Advanced Manufacturing Technology Instructor.  This position will be located in Fond du Lac for the 2024-25 academic year and then move to West Bend in the 2025-26 academic year after the AIR (Automation, Innovation and Robotic) Center is complete. This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet workforce needs.  This instructor may be asked to teach at various sites within the Moraine Park District to include campus, center and business locations, and may be required to teach on evenings and weekends. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Manufacturing and Integrated Technologies.  

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or willing to obtain a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program and two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five years. In lieu of this one year of recent experience, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered. (Two years of post-secondary teaching experience means eight semesters of part-time teaching or four semesters of full-time teaching at an accredited institution.)

Responsibilities:

• Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
• Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
• Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
• Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
• Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
• Assist with student recruitment and proactively promote the College programs and services offered.
• Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Experience in a combination of at least three of the following job duties:
o Production planning
o Process control
o Routing
o Machine & Process Specification
o Inspection
o Statistical Process Control (SPC)
o Metrology
o Manufacturing/Quality Cost Analysis
o Lean Manufacturing
o Six Sigma
o Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) or Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programming and operating
o Robotic Programming and Gripper Design
o Tooling and Fixturing Design
• Upon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

Desired Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to speak and write in English and Spanish in professional settings.

• Any of the following certifications:
o Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME)
o Certified Manufacturing Engineer
o American Society for Quality (ASQ)
o Certified Quality Technician
o Certified Quality Engineer
o Manufacturing Skills Standards Certification (MSSC)
• Any combination of necessary experience and qualifications which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Hiring Range: $73,339-$91,673

Starting: Fall Semester, August or as soon as available
