Job Description

Position Description:

Primary responsibilities is to provide timely inspections and documentation on in-process tank trailer production as well as completed tank trailer assembly; utilizing measuring instruments to verify acceptability and compliance with current methods and regulatory requirements, that include but not limited to ASME, FDA, DOT, and Sanitary requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with all areas of system to insure the Quality Management Systems are functioning correctly.
  • Perform quality inspections; as necessary.
  • Completion of required documentation associated with the inspection process.
  • Report questionable product to Senior Quality Inspector and/or Quality Manager.
  • Review, analyze, and generate data reports.
  • Maintain calibration program.
  • Approves or rejects components and/or workmanship throughout the production process
  • Communicates and documents the disposition of non-conformities in a timely manner
  • Follows up on the non-conformities during the production of the tank trailer to ensure their proper completion
  • Ability to review or learn how to review sales release, sales configurator, tank trailer specifications, regulatory and customer requirements against the completed tank trailer to ensure accuracy
  • Ability to learn; Tests tank trailer to ensure functionality of all components, controls and programming; Ensures there are no leaks, the tank trailer functions at proper specifications, pressure and vacuum, as needed.
  • Oversees detail process; Questions any conditions that appear to be sub-standard
  • Photographs and documents all aspects of the completed tank trailer.
  • Ensures the shipping papers, handwritten notes and all other documents are in the job folder and digital folder; As necessary, enters all documentation in to the digital job file.
  • Interfaces with employees, customers and vendors in a clear and professional manner to ensure quality requirements are properly conveyed and achieved
  • Advises supervisor of any safety, environmental and maintenance concerns

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Education Requirements:

HS/GED or Associate’s Degree Trade or Technical School in Engineering Preferred

Knowledge and/or training courses:

  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Access and Power Point, or the ability to learn
  • Demonstrate the ability to or gain the ability to read, interpret and apply blueprints, weld symbols and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to read and write English; or have the ability to learn.
  • Creative problem solving
  • Experience with ERP systems desired
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, etc.); a plus


Certifications, Licenses

  • Certified or ability to become a certified weld inspector, Preferred
