Retail Services Supervisor



Job Summary: Performs Teller and Universal Banker functions and supervises the full range of tasks involved in opening and processing new accounts and providing excellent customer service. Serves as a sales leader within the deposit department and utilizes contact with customers to help the bank grow by introducing customers to additional products and services that the Bank has to offer and asks customer for additional business. Assists staff in achieving sales goals that increase existing household relationships and adds new households. Serves as a role model for excellent customer service and personally responds to customer requests and inquiries that are directed to the incumbent. Schedules time away from a Teller window as necessary to complete some supervisory functions. The incumbent of this position will be included in the Saturday rotation. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Maintains a current knowledge of all policies and procedures affecting deposit  operations and serves as the immediate resource for staff when they have operations questions or otherwise seek guidance in performing their responsibilities.      
  2. Works  to resolve customer problems when staff need to refer a situation.
  3. Observes the performance of staff and provides coaching to assist them in achieving top level performance in providing direct customer service, cross-selling products and services and processing transactions. 
  4. Coordinates training for new staff and provides ongoing training for all Retail Services staff;  coordinates the cross-training of staff.
  5. Works with the scheduling supervisor to ensure adequate staffing to provide good customer service.
  6. Assists with reviewing reports which need to be reviewed on a regular basis.
  7. Conducts performance evaluations of retail staff by compiling information for annual reviews; upon approval meets with staff to review performance and discuss goals for the upcoming period.
  8. Is a back up to the Tellers and Universal Bankers, as staffing needs dictate.
  9. Provide on-going communication to address and coach on job performance.  
  10. Documents performance and disciplinary issues.
  11. Responsible for following proper procedures for balancing and buying and selling vault cash.
  12. Responsible for ATM balancing and refilling on a daily basis.
  13. Makes recommendations for changes when there are opportunities to improve any aspect of operations; implements changes when approved.
  14. Is responsible for completing all required training (compliance and other). Performs duties in accord with training and ensures that staff perform their duties in accord with training.
  15. Understands the banks security policies and procedures, assists in opening and closing procedures.
  16. Conducts oneself in accord with the Bank’s Core Values.

· High school diploma or equivalent (preference for education or training in supervision)

· Previous supervisory experience

· Proficiency with Teller and Universal Banker Operations

· Ability to serve as a good role model for staff 

· Ability to work a variable work schedule

· Ability to multi-task

· Ability to stand for extended periods of time 

· Ability to view computer screen, paperwork and cash
