Saw Lead

Overview

***3rd shift, Sunday – Thursday, 11pm – 7am***

***Starting $24.78 plus shift premium***

Works directly with associates, provides coaching, training, and coordinating job assignments in sawing, packing, racking and stacking products. 

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for following all safety rules and reporting any safety violations to supervisor. When able correct the safety violation immediately.
2. Work closely with Fabrication Supervisor to ensure productive management of associates including performance of those being led.
2. Communicate and assign jobs and tasks to associates working in the ACK area (saw, lineal de-stacking, lineal racking and lineal packing area) based upon production dispatch. Assure safety, quality standards, productivity, rate attainment and that production schedules are met.
3. Develop a good working knowledge of the data collection, Syteline and Omav systems to include finished goods and supply inventory, sales order/dept. dispatch and employee activity reports.
4. Train and orientate new associates to ACK area, assigning “buddies” to new associates and evaluating their progress.
5. Start, adjust, and repair machinery, or notify plant services when needed.
6. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
7. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
8. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
9. Analyze and resolve daily issues that come up in production and assist workers in solving issues.
10. Perform and coordinate inspection and quality control activities and perform hands-on work related to activities in the department.
11. Perform daily preventative maintenance on forklifts.
12. Maintain 6S standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience and/or training in packing or saw procedures; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
