Treffert Way (K-8) is searching for a special education instructional aide for the 2023-2024 school year

Job Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list and maybe modified as needs of TWS evolve):
● Understand and implement the Treffert Approach within classroom instruction
● Carry out learning objectives, lesson plans, and assist in delivering lessons to students in academics, social, and formative skills utilizing various strategies and students’ strengths
● Support students in 1:1 settings, small groups or within the full classroom
● Support the independent use of visuals and functional communication teacher generated objectives and lesson plans
● Follow through with the Treffert Approach Plans for all students you work with
● Adapt teaching methods and strategies to meet the unique learning styles of students
● Track and report student performance and progress
● Support students during recess and lunch
● Deliver services outlined in the IEP plan to students.
● Collaborate and communicate with others that include: administration and coworkers
● Maintain confidentiality, treating all information about students and families in strictest confidence
● Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and attend special training as needed. Share training experiences and knowledge of programs and materials with fellow educators and associates
● Other duties as assigned
Training provided by District or Treffert Way
● Treffert Approach instructional strategies
● Mandatory trainings ( Bloodborne Pathogens, McKinney-Veto Homeless, Mandatory Reporter, etc.)
● Teacher Evaluation System, new teacher academy, work with mentor
● Other training deemed necessary for job placement and role
