The Sr Digital Advertising Strategist leads all digital advertising for Mercury brand marketing initiatives supporting Parts & Accessories, Controls and Rigging, Propeller Business units, and other customer marketing programs.  This role reports into the Director – Online & Consumer Engagement and will contribute to overall online, social media, and other consumer engagement efforts.  This role will require collaboration with a variety of content contributors, including creative and digital agency teams, in-house creative resources, and independent contractors.

This is a key position within Marketing, and the ideal candidate will display potential to advance to further levels of accountability.  Indicators of this potential are the ability to articulate actionable strategies, execute with attention to detail and consistently high quality, and deliver results that enhance Mercury’s leadership within its competitive arena.  The ability to listen and learn, apply empathy in development of insights, and collaboratively drive action will be keys to successful fulfillment of the requirements of this role.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Act as subject matter expert for digital advertising
  • Develop and execute strategies to reach and engage Mercury’s target audiences
  • Build, monitor, optimize and manage search campaigns from the ground-up, including keyword research, competitive analysis, and ad copy generation
  • Run all digital advertising campaigns including display, video, social including global regions
  • Manage and track organic search programs
  • Allocate budgets for various initiatives and campaigns
  • Utilize data to better understand and evaluate the end-to-end digital journeys across channels, platforms, and touchpoints
  • Partner with social media team to promote content to targeted audiences
  • Track and identify key competitive digital initiatives
  • Analyze various data and performance indicators and provide comprehensive feedback, insight, and strategies to improve overall performance and profitability
  • Develop performance dashboards/reports as well as perform ad hoc and recurring analyses
  • Craft annual plans to meet business objectives
  • Facilitate and nurture resilient, productive cross-functional relationships with Sales, Category, and other functions to enhance impact of Marketing contributions to delivery of business results
  • Liaise with Marketing teams across Mercury brand portfolio, Brunswick Boat Group, OEM customers, and dealer base to guide and socialize best practices
  • Contribute to the evolution of digital marketing capabilities for Mercury Marine and Brunswick, utilizing inspiration, a spirit of collaboration, and subject matter expertise

Required Attributes and Skills:

  • Creative, decisive, responsive, able to work independently and take responsibility for decisions and outcomes.  Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
  • Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers; can see hidden problems; is excellent at honest analysis; looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at the first answers.
  • Strong analytical skills with understanding for relevant web metrics and KPIs.
  • Experience with Google Ad and Analytics tools.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of advertising space, ad platforms, and campaign management.
  • Experience in collaboratively managing resources (agencies, freelancers, consultants).
  • Cross-functional collaboration and ability to motivate performance through influence.
  • Responsive, able to work independently or in a team environment.  Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience
