Student Services Coordinator

This position promotes and supports the learning experience of Marian University students by, providing support to the Registrar and assists to enforce academic and administrative policies and procedures and maintain student academic records. This position provides a cooperative service supported approach with all members of the University, in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Facilitates Academic Processes and Procedures – 45%

  1. Maintains, publishes, and processes forms including but not limited to: change of name/address form, change of major/curriculum forms, course registration and drop forms, grade change forms, withdrawal forms, course substitutions, and waivers related to student academic records.
  2. Represents the Office of the Registrar at New Student Registration (NSR).
  3. Identifies general rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the University and effectively and consistently communicates the information to students, faculty, and staff.
  4. Knows general rules, regulations and policies of the University and consistently disseminates information to all constituencies of the University and community.

Administrative Support – 40%

  1. Manages the front desk, office email account, and form maintenance requests in SabreNet. Interacts directly with students, staff, faculty and the community by directing to appropriate University personnel as needed and assisting with a wide variety of requests.
  2. Processes all name, demographic, gender, and address change requests from students and alumni through SabreNet and Change of Name/Address form.

Compliance – 10%

  1. Process and maintains the accuracy of all student academic records, including high school dual credit.
  2. Updates student database with FERPA permissions.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: – 5%

  1. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Associate’s degree with three years secretarial/administrative assistant experience. A combination of education and experience may be
  2. Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to relate well with students of varying ages, parents and faculty and
  3. Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and ability to work
  4. Proficient on a variety of computer applications, including software packages and other appropriate
  5. Knowledge of modern office practice and procedures and office equipment/machines.
  6. Strong planning, analytical, and organization skills with an emphasis and follow through to
  7. Ethical comportment with a high regard for
  8. Willingness to support the Mission and Core Values of the University.
