The Substance Abuse Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a safe and drug-free work environment through organizing, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of Ahern’s substance abuse programs, and ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. You will work closely with employees, management, and external service providers to implement and maintain effective drug testing and compliance processes.
Specifically, this position will be responsible for:
Maintaining substance abuse and compliance programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with union Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) requirements or local, state, and federal regulations.
Coordinate all aspects of drug testing, including scheduling and result reporting, while maintaining confidentiality and privacy standards.
Oversee the selection and management of external drug testing service providers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
Stay up to date with changes in drug testing regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends to ensure the organization’s drug testing program remains current and effective.
Train and educate employees and management on drug testing policies, procedures, and legal requirements, promoting a strong understanding of compliance expectations.
Maintain accurate and confidential records related to drug testing, compliance, and related activities, ensuring data integrity and security.
Act as the main point of contact for employees, management, and external stakeholders regarding drug testing and compliance matters, providing guidance, support, and timely responses to inquiries.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of drug testing service providers, ensuring adherence to service level agreements, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
This position is not responsible for the counseling of employees, since those services are referred externally.
What you need to qualify:
Three years of human resources, administrative, or office support experience or equivalent education and experience.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy standards.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in using computer systems and software applications.
