Description
Under routine supervision, performs clerical duties in support of Intake Court relating to traffic and non-traffic ordinance violation. Examples of Duties
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all?inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
– Works at counter to answer questions regarding traffic and non-traffic ordinance matters, occupational driver’s licenses, and collects money for traffic, criminal or ordinance violations.
– Prepares new incoming traffic citations and complaints for court dates.
– Accurately records payment on fines.
– Answers telephone inquiries.
– Receives charging documents from issuing agencies in traffic and non-traffic matters.
– Maintains and distributes a calendar of scheduled dates for Intake Court.
– Records and reports disposition of traffic cases to Department of Transportation.
– Prepares court documents for court ordered intoxicated driver assessment and driver safety plans.
– Issues commitments, warrants and suspensions as ordered by the Judge.
– Checks records for inquiring agencies.
– Provides clerical support for Intake Court for scheduled arraignments, Pederson Hearings, and daily returns from the jail.
Typical Qualifications
Desirable Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be proficient in use of computer. Must be able to effectively work with public by personal contact or telephone.
Must be accurate with accounting for handling of cash transactions. Must be able to operate cash register. Ability to exercise discretion with regard to confidentiality of judicial proceedings.
Training and Experience:
High school graduate or the equivalent with 2 years of experience in court related work is desirable.
