Society Insurance is looking for a dedicated intern to join our Workers’ Compensation team within the Claims department. In this role, you’ll assist in managing and analyzing claims related to workplace injuries, gaining valuable experience in this essential area of insurance, which provides medical benefits and wage replacement to employees affected by job-related injuries or illness.
About the Role
- Produces and manages information by generating and monitoring data and other pertinent documentation for claim files.
- Maintains databases’ by entering new and updated claim information.
- Assists with new claims by entering information into our claims system and distributing them to appropriate staff members.
- Develops knowledge of workers’ compensation system by reviewing and participating in claims investigations, department meetings, and other applicable training.
- Reviews and maintains cost containment programs.
- Prepares various reports by researching, collecting, analyzing, and summarizing research and project data.
- Participates and attends variety of functions in the community and within the company to provide a well-rounded insurance internship. This may include job shadows in other departments, company events for interns, insurance networking, and many more.

What it Will Take
- Pursuing Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- 3.0 or better cumulative GPA on a 4.0-point scale.
- Full-time or part-time collegiate status.
- Basic computer software knowledge (word processing, e-mail, accessing and updating databases).
- Experience with operating typical office machines (such as a copy machine, fax machine, computer).
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record as determined by Society Insurance.
