Description – The job of a Braille Transcriber is to translate printed text into braille for blind and low-vision readers. The Braille Transcriber is responsible for a variety of Braille transcription work, assists teachers with the preparation of classroom and teaching materials, and tactile modification of print representation for students that have visual impairments.
LOCATION: East Central Wisconsin. Award-winning schools and staff. Sixty miles north of Milwaukee on Highway 41. Easy driving distance to University of Wisconsin systems located in Oshkosh, Madison, Milwaukee, and Green Bay. UW Campus (two years) and Marian University (four years) located in Fond du Lac.
SCHOOLS: 14 schools – one high school, grades 9-12, including an alternative high school, grades 9-12; three middle schools, grades 6-8; nine elementary schools, grades 4K-5; one STEM charter school serving grades 6 – 12.
City population and surrounding area which constitutes the school district, approximately 45,000.
