Our remote, rural setting allows our clients to immerse themselves in nature — from our horses and surrounding wildlife to flowerbeds and vegetable gardens; our nature-based program meets the specific needs of our clients.
Mahala’s Hope is looking to add a part-time Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to our team. We are looking for the right candidate who has the desire to work in a setting where equine experiential learning and nature are implemented in the therapy process. The Counselor is an integral part of the transitional living setting. The counselor performs services including assessment, case management, individual and group counseling, and family counseling with clients experiencing substance abuse, trauma, and other co-occurring disorders.
Qualifications/Requirements- Required
- Associate degree in AODA, CSAC (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor)
- Master’s degree in one of the following: clinical or counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or other relevant human services field.
- Previous experience/knowledge of working in a transitional care facility.
- Trained in Trauma Responsive Care
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Valid Drivers License and a good driving record.
Preferred
CBRF certified- will train if needed.
Job Type: Part-time with the possibility of future growth
Salary: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour based on experience
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift, Wednesday availability, and a weekly rotating on-call schedule with the current counselor. The on-call schedule requires availability on nights and weekends and covers vacation hours as needed.
