The Facilities Department has Environment Services Attendant (Housekeeping) positions

Title: Environmental Service Attendant (Housekeeping)
FTE: Varies (Full-time, Part-time, & Temporary)
Department: Facilities
Reports To: Environment Service Attendant Lead
FLSA: Non-Exempt
This position promotes and supports the learning experience of Marian University students
by, cleaning and keeping an orderly condition in all campus locations.

Essential Functions:
1. Cleans offices, dorms, classrooms, schools, common areas, lavatories, halls, food
service areas and any other areas that may require attention.
2. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, polishes floors and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.
3. Cleans light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows and
window coverings.
4. Will be required to properly and safely use cleaning chemicals per manufacturer and
Marian standards.
5. Empties trash and garbage containers.
6. Replenishes supplies.
7. May shampoo and clean carpets or buff and polish floors, which will require
the use of mechanical equipment.
8. May perform routine equipment maintenance and make minor repairs.
9. May drive a golf cart or other vehicles.
10. Moves furniture and sets-up tables and chairs.
11. Notifies supervisor concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting,
heating, and ventilating equipment.
12. Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
13. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.14. Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
15. Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
16. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
17. Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.

Other Responsibility:
1. Performs other work-related duties as necessary or as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
1. High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
2. No previous experience required.
3. Knowledge of proper and safe use of applicable custodial equipment.
4. Willingness to be open to learning and growing.
5. Appropriate maturity of judgment and behavior.
6. Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance.
7. Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity.
8. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
9. Must comply with any dress code requirements.
10. Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
11. Must possess a valid driver’s license if assigned to drive a vehicle.
