Description

The School District of Oakfield is seeking an energetic, innovative, and effective full time High School Counselor (9-12 grade). The high school student population is approximately 160 students. Our philosophy is our roots run deep and our branches stretch far. We are a high performing rural school district with strong community support. Students and staff enjoy small class sizes for maximum educational opportunity. Our building recently underwent a major renovation and is a like new facility.

The candidate should possess an ability to assist students in reaching their potential, and assist them in developing both positive and realistic self-concepts in the areas of personal/social, academic, and career/vocational development. Candidates should be passionate about working with students to ensure high levels of learning for all. Collaboration with other educators and a focus on counseling that will assist each student toward increased personal growth, understanding, and maturity, are key position attributes. Candidates should be passionate about facilitating the Academic and Career Planning (ACP) process in a meaningful way. They should have the ability to lead students and support staff throughout the process to ensure students make progress towards achieving their post-secondary goals. Our district serves approximately 530 students in grades 4K-12 and receives strong community support. QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction school counselor license.

The School District of Oakfield has been rated by the Department of Public Instruction as one of the best small schools in Wisconsin. The middle school and high school are housed in the same building with a 6-12 enrollment of 275 students. The district is a one to one computer device school district. There is a strong tradition of academics, athletics and the community is extremely supportive of academic achievement. It is an expectation that the person selected for this position is a progressive instructional leader who has high academic and behavioral expectations for students. The preferred candidate must understand the importance of positive relationships, be a team player,be involved in school and community activities as well as genuinely enjoy interacting with students on a daily basis.
