In this months’ episode of Where is Envision Working, we bring you here!

Location: Fondy Food Pantry
Job: volunteering

This month, we had the opportunity to volunteer at the Fondy Food Pantry.

This is quite the operation!

Their mission is to provide supplemental healthy food options and education to families in need in Fond du Lac County. They accomplish this through several means.

For nearly 40 years, the Fondy Food Pantry has operated and provided needed resources to families. Although they moved from location to location, they found their forever home in 2018.

Our experience volunteering here was great. The other volunteers were kind and helpful. The guests who came in to get needed items for their families for also kind and welcomed us as newcomers.

When we asked the long-time volunteers why they do this, they said they had compassion for those in need and wanted to help. The roles we played were things really anyone could do. Whether assisting with the admission process, food selection, or product delivery (to vehicles), there really is something any volunteer could do.

The good news for you? Fondy Food Pantry is looking for volunteers! There are a few ways you can get involved. Certainly, volunteering is one. Anyone 16 and older can help (a parent or guardian must assist with the volunteer application process for those under 18). The Fondy Food Pantry also accepts monetary and food donations.

In the end, we really enjoyed our time volunteering here. It was easy and fulfilling. If you or someone you know is bilingual (particularly in Spanish), there is a big need for these individuals.
