In this months’ episode of Where is Envision Working, we bring you here!

Location: Legacy Express

Job: Drivers

This month, we had the opportunity to meet with members of the team at Legacy Express. We were met by the owner, Jeff, right away as we arrived. He welcomed us and mentioned how he had provided breakfast for the team because it was Driver Appreciation Week (September 10-16, 2023). This was only the beginning of that team feeling.

We were handed off to a longtime driver (nearly 30 years!). He was so patient with us and answered every question we asked (and there were a LOT!). We started by doing the inspection of the truck before it could be driven for the day. We were impressed with the thoroughness of the inspection and the great attention to detail. Safety is the #1 priority here.

After an extensive review of the vehicle, we hopped in to do one inside the truck. We have to say, we felt very comfortable (and safe) riding in this vehicle. After a tour of the inside of the truck, we (actually Tracy), drove the big rig to the yard to hook up to a trailer that had been delivered earlier that day. This experience was exhilarating (and slightly scary). Our lead trainer was so patient (again) and exceptional in providing direction.

Once we hooked the trailer to the truck, the professional took over and we made the delivery. Upon return, we (Jill) took the truck for a drive around the yard.

We took some time to ask questions about the work environment. The family environment, ability to work together and independently, and the benefits all ranked high in terms of why people stay here.

The good news for you? Legacy Express is hiring! As a company who is passionate about what they do, they are dedicated to growth and perfection. If you’re looking for a stable driving career, want to be home nights and weekends, and have a clean driving record, check out the careers at Legacy Express!

In the end, this was an exceptional experience. Everyone we spoke to while we were there was kind and excited about what they were doing. We were even told the owner of the company will jump in and help where needed (he doesn’t ask others to do things he wouldn’t do himself).

Tracy is the Senior Director of Marketing and Communication at Envision Greater Fond du Lac.
