The City of Fond du Lac is accepting applications for the position of Televising and Metering Technician.  The primary goal of this position is to identify and help eliminate sources of Clearwater into the sanitary sewer collection system.

Various duties include operating sewer televising equipment in sanitary and storm sewers including both mains and laterals, maintaining data gathered through televising and inspection of sewers, bag and flood storm sewers to simulate rain events while televising,  evaluating sanitary and storm sewers for condition against a set of objective standards, and install, program and maintain flow meters.

Support for the Construction & Maintenance division is included by assisting in general road maintenance, storm sewer inspection, leaf collection and winter road maintenance as needed.

The successful candidate has or will have the ability to learn and operate medium duty equipment: combination sewer jet/vac truck, single and tandem axle patrol trucks with plow, side mounted wing and rear material spreader, CCTV mainline and lateral inspection equipment, and general hand and power tools.

Requirements include a High School education or equivalent with ability to operate or be trained on the televising and sewer metering equipment. Certification within 6 months of start date will be required in Confined Space Entry, Basic First Aid, CPR, and a WI DNR Certification in Collection Systems (City paid training provided).

Possession of a valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License, Class “A”, without air brakes restriction and with tanker endorsement is preferred, and will be required (City paid training provided) within a probationary period.
