Burke is growing and we’re looking for a Quality Manager to join our movement and help us take play to a higher level.  The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring Burke is supplying the highest quality product to our customers. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Quality Manager will be a key player in our quest for high quality, adherence to ISO and overall development of the team. The Role – What You’ll Do!

  • Lead the Quality effort at Burke, ensuring Burke-built quality is delivered every time.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 and 14001 registrations by ensuring all elements of the ISO standards are managed, maintained and improved under our quality and environmental management systems.
  • Communicate between suppliers and management to identify issues in supply quality and provide guidance on process enhancements and improvements.
  • Establish and maintain quality goals and objectives by measuring and analyzing the performance of departmental and company quality metrics.
  • Work with employees and Management to implement continuous improvement activities.
  • Conduct investigations of root cause, gather and analyze historical data, and assist as needed in the corrective action process to help drive an improved process that will yield no future issues.
  • Improve production quality by auditing and inspecting parts and processes to identify improvement opportunities; Investigate and take corrective action on the opportunities to resolve quality issues. Hold and drive corrective action meetings to ensure the completion of open corrective actions.
  • Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products and production equipment. Test, analyze and correct non-conforming and returned materials.
  • Assist New Product Development process and with product design questions related to overall quality and expected longevity of the product.
  • Assist with company’s maintenance of calibration system to ensure the accuracy of the measurements taken using various measurement equipment.
  • Ensure effectiveness of internal audits by assuming the position of lead internal auditor. Develop yearly audit schedules, monitor and assist internal auditors with audits, ensure audits are complete and effective to requirements, perform internal audits, and revise the audit schedule according to audit results and business needs.

Qualifications That Move Us!

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study preferred; or Associate degree from two year college or technical school with related experience, training and demonstrated skills.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 3 years with direct people leadership experience. 
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 Standards.
  • Knowledge of quality management system principles
  • Exposure working within an ERP/MRP system is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office  software.
  • Strong work ethic – must be a self-starter and willing to do what it takes to complete the task.
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to teach others.
  • Ability to multi-task and execute tasks with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal  communication skills.
  • Must also have a good knowledge of all pertinent OSHA requirements to point out potential problem areas and recommend solutions.
