Description

The Ripon Area School District is seeking qualified candidates to fill several full-time special education student support staff (formerly known as aide or teacher assistants) serving students in a special program at Ripon Middle and High School for students with Intellectual Disabilities,  The position would primarily be working with students in grades 6-12 supporting in general education classes as well as program based life skills, work skills classes.  Unique skills are needed such as being able to build rapport with students who may be verbal or non-nonverbal helping with many areas of growing independent life skills.  Students in this program may have disabilities that are physical or cognitive and range from low to moderate.  This position will work closely with teachers in Special Education and General Education.  The position is approximately 35 hours per week during the school year when children are present.

Qualified candidates will hold (or be able to obtain) a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Special Education Program Aide License and demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to develop and deliver high-quality education for students based on individual needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate well with all staff and students
  • Ability to pay attention to details and timelines
  • Ability to collect, use and monitor student data
  • Ability to be a flexible, organized team player and advocate for students

You will join an excellent, collaborative team of experienced, supportive Special Education teachers and therapists.   Ripon has excellent facilities and materials available for serving students with special needs.  Details of the job may vary depending on the candidate’s strengths and talents. The district will provide all training necessary for this position.  A special education program aide license is required, but can be obtained upon hire.   

Wage is over $16.00 per hour.  Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, accumulative paid sick time, a personal day, Wisconsin retirement fund and more.
