Over the past four school years, student growth data has shown continuous improvement, a remarkable feat considering the challenges posed by the global pandemic that significantly altered the landscape of education. In the realm of mathematics, the proficiency of students has soared to an impressive 62%, marking a remarkable 28% increase. Similarly, in English Language Arts (ELA), the school has seen notable progress, with proficiency levels rising from a modest 32.6% in the 2018-19 school year to a commendable 47.5% in the current academic year.
What truly sets Evans Elementary apart is its unwavering commitment to ensuring growth for each and every learner. This dedication is reflected in their performance data, among students receiving additional support services. In mathematics, these students have seen their scores surge from 14.3% in 2018-19 to an impressive 54.2% in 2022-23, while in ELA, the progress has been equally commendable, with proficiency rates rising from 10.7% in 2018-19 to a notable 41.7% in 2022-23.
Evans Elementary School, a close-knit neighborhood school, proudly serves approximately 300 students aged 4 to 11, spanning from 4K to 5th grade. The school is characterized by its strong sense of community, with the majority of students either walking, biking or being driven to and from Evans daily. With a dedicated team of over 50 staff members, including teachers, specialists, instructional assistants, secretaries, custodians and food service staff, Evans ensures a nurturing environment conducive to student learning. The active and supportive Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and robust community partnerships further enrich the school’s educational experience.
