Right here there’s a world of possibilities
The greater Fond du Lac area is located at the most southern shore of Wisconsin’s largest inland lake, Lake Winnebago.
Living here means boating, sailing, fishing, water skiing, windsurfing and ice fishing, as well as numerous events like the Sturgeon Spectacular (a sturgeon spearing season that produces a village of ice fishing shanties on the lake each year) and Walleye Weekend (the world’s largest fish fry).
You’ll also have access to numerous bike loops and hiking trails, arboretums and wildlife marshes – like the Horicon Marsh, the largest freshwater cattail marsh in the United States – and the Kettle Moraine State Forest known for its camping, hiking, snowmobiling, equestrian trails and more specifically, the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
For culture lovers, Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts and open-air concerts at the Buttermilk Park amphitheater. For foodies, the pizza at Joe’s Fox Hut, apple pie with sugar cookie crust at Little Farmer, an ice cream cone from Kelley Country Creamery (“Good Morning America” winner for “best ice cream in America”), a Friday fish fry at a traditional supper club in “the Holyland” region, a Bloody Mary at the Green Dragon. For history buffs, the Octagon House, Galloway Village, the Wade House, St. Paul’s Cathedral and The Hotel Retlaw. For fashionistas, The Goldsmith and Living Light Studio jewelry stores and Lillian’s women’s apparel shops. For sports enthusiasts, take in a sporting event at the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, Blue Line Family Ice Center or Fond du Lac Soccer Complex. For anyone feeling lucky, Miracle Mile where more than $310 million in lottery winnings have been doled out since 1993.
And after a long day of fun, you can come home to a great variety of neighborhood/housing options, including:
